September 9, 200619 yr I received an email from edimensional today, and this new controller looked interesting. It's the XBox type of controller that some of FSX's Beta testers use, and it has force feedback, rumble, and actually senses movement! There's a video on their site that actually shows FSX air races with the player using the device. Although I'm an avid joystick user, I did order one (money back guarantee), and I'm going to re-visit the forum thread that gave the setup to the Xbox device.Maybe, just maybe, I could get to enjoy a device like this....especially with that one man, kite-glider in the FSX demo. Could be a lot of fun. Check it out.https://edimensional.com/product_info.php?c...s_id=118&ref=91
September 9, 200619 yr Not bad... I picked up a Windows XBOX 360 controller at Best Buy a few weeks ago for about 45$, and i REALLY like it. I got it for GTR and GTL racing games and my first version of Madden for the PC, but i now LOVE it in FSX. The rudders are analog triggers and the Left analog stick acts as the joystick, but the coolest thing is the Right analog stick moves the camera. So when you make a turn you can point the camera at a specific piece of scenery and circle around it. I have a more complex flight set up, but you just cant beat the 360 type controller for ease of use and just plain fun.HIGHLY recomended. but spend the extra for a good one, i tried 3 others before settling on the Xbox PC version.solid.jbps.. if you are in a pinch, you can cut the end of an old Xbox controller and just splice it into a USB cord, same wires. There's also a free software program out there so you can set it up the way you like.
September 9, 200619 yr Author Please tell me what your assignments are.....Typically, my stick has a twist rudder function. How do you move rudder with your controller? How do assign your buttons? Stan
September 10, 200619 yr I have a wireless XBox 360 controller, is there any way I can get to connect this to the PC so I can try it out with Flight Sim?Thanks in AdvanceDan

September 10, 200619 yr yeah mike, I've been on the dark side for about a year since i first lopped the end off my now dormant Xbox system. I have bought every console since the 2600, sometimes more than once, but I am officially done with any and all consoles (unless you count the PSP) I've spent a buttload upgrading my PC, I think its equal to or even better than any console i've played. Higher Screen rez is a big plus. With the addition of some really good controllers, Im not missing anything. So that's my Journey to the dark side. You should set your buttons to what you enjoy. I already described how i set up the main ones. here's the program to set up the buttons.http://www.llamma.com/xbox/Archive/xbcd.htmagain this is only for the original Xbox controller, Im using a PC version of the Xbox 360.have funjoe
September 11, 200619 yr What am I hearing running GTL and GTR on a gamepad. not to mention FS ;).Get a DFP for GTR and GTL and you will hate your Xbox 360 controller :). Unless you can afford a Logitech G25. If you run racing games a lot you will wonder how you ever could run with a gamepad That is if you run full sim mode anyway which is so much more rewarding.I do love how everyone is now copying Nintendos approach with motion sensing controllers. MS have had it in the past and it has been as dead as stereo3d gaming but now thanks to Nintendo it
