I recently upgraded my video card to a EVGA 7800 GS CO from an ATI card. In the FS9.CFG file this line appears:{DISPLAY.Device.RADEON 9200 SERIES .0} (In Brackets)Mode=1280x1024x16Since I've installed new drivers for the Nvidia card, does this line in the cfg cause any problems? There is nothing describing the Nvidia card in the cfg. Someone wrote somewhere in one of these forums that he reinstalled FS9 after changing video cards and that the results were much better due to the correct display device being inserted into the cfg. Is there a way to eliminate this entry without having FS9 rewrite the entire cfg? Or can I erase the line and will FS9 rewrite it using the correct video card settings?I just don't want to have to rewrite all my cfg files, although I believe that will be the case anyway since I already made a couple of changes and had to reprogram some of the button controls on the CH Throttle Quadrant since the change in one cfg causes a change in all the cfg's.Thanks for any input.

Hi Copy into notepad the parts of the cfg you want to save, deleteor rename the current cfg file and let fs build a new one...shouldshow the correct display adapter. Then copy and paste the saved info...or save the whole cfg deletingthe display device, and do the above. Then paste the saved file overthe new one.

Evan easier, just delete the 3 or 4 lines you don't need - everything under the DISPLAY heading. Reboot the sim and all you have to do is change the res, set the AA/AF/Triple Buffering preference - and you're back up and running. No need to copy or change anything else.Simple as that. In fact it's so simple I do it everytime I change drivers!Allcott
