Benchmark

I have been using a program called Aquamark to judge my upgrades over the last few months. Do you guys know of another good freeware Benchmark program? My old rig scored 8,950with a Celeron D 2.8512 mb RAM5600fx Ultra12,880Celeron D 2.82 gigs RAM6200OC75,440E6400 Core2duo4 gigs RAM7600GT ocI thought it would be interesting to see how other combinations scored. Perhaps if there is a 'standard' benchmark we could post our scores here.later, joe

Good Idea!! I Can't wait to see some of the Core 2 Duo marks!! I have seen some C2 Extreme scores in other forums over 250,000!! Of course that was with a bit of overclocking..he heHere are mine on my FX-57 system...No tweeks...No Overclock either...I just did a fresh install and havn't got to the tweeking yet...It will wake up pretty good when I get the OC going...http://forums.avsim.net/user_files/157173.jpghttp://forums.avsim.net/user_files/157174.jpgHave Fun!!

Here are my scores for my 4800x2 system...The specs are below for comparison purposes...http://forums.avsim.net/user_files/157175.jpghttp://forums.avsim.net/user_files/157177.jpgAthlon64 x2 4800+ (2.4ghz)Asus A8R32-MVP Deluxe mbHIS X1900XTX1gb Mushkin Hi Perf LVL2 PC3200WD Caviar SE16 250gb 7200 RPM 16mb Cache SeaSonic S12-600/SLI 600WSB Audigy2 ZS Gamer Sound CardEnlight EN-7250 Black CasePlextor PX230A CD/RWPlextor PX760A DVD/RWMitsumi 7-n-1 Card ReaderHave Fun!!

I got 91,041 but my comp. is right out of the box with the old nvidia drivers for the 7900GS. I'm not very knowledgeable on computer stuff but this system is exceeding my expectations which is a real bonus because I had high expectations. I get FRs in the 30s (bare minimum)with a PSS757 with FMC over Gatwick with sliders averaging about 98%, with lots of add on scenery and tons of AI. An ATC program and a few other software pieces will likely chew into that though.Intel E66002GB 6?? ramWD7200Sata 320gb HD with 16 mb. cache.

good stuff fella's but are you trying to scare off the straights? :-lolwow! what numbers!I just broke 8,000 on 3dmark5, but i need to update some drivers and clean up a few things and i '''hope''' to hit 9k.but my 7600GT is only going to get me so far, but this cards a stop gap until new hardware season... whenever that may be.I bet your liking that E6600 eh? Im really happy with the E6400, honestly, i can watch live TV, read these forums and fly FS9 all at the same time... what's the world coming to?dont be shy now, post those numbers and specsthanks guys, joe

My 4 yr old system:P-4 2.0GHz, 400FSB1 GB RamNvidia 6800GTAquamark3 Score: 36,210GFX 5697CPU 4965

wow, I just updated my video drivers to 91.47's and look what i got... http://forums.avsim.net/user_files/157236.jpgalright, who can break 100,000 and who can break 10,000 :-loljoe

My 3DMark05 Scores:3729 Game2376 CPUThe weird thing is that when I compared them to other users with P-4,2.0-2.8 GHz, Same video card...everyone was much lower than mine!!(Top on list was about 2500-2600.)Why on earth is that?! (Not complaining...just curious)May explain why my ol' machine here does quite well in FS9 with FPS locked at 36, and does pretty well in the FSX demo also.

Which driver version did you have previously? I am using 91.31

I don't understand 3DMark06. hmmm....MannyInterersting. Erv has a the Extreme X6800 Core 2 Duo. which is stock 2.9Ghz and he has not OCed.. and mine is a E6600 OCed to 3.3Ghz and the results Show. The benefit of OCing is right here. However,, the 3DMark score is...different. Its the video card.

"Now, why is this so slow? I don't understand 3DMark06. hmmm...."I'd say probably the graphics card...Every benchmarking program is a bit different...I can't get to technical's reguarding what they test or why their different(because I don't know)...I think the main thing to remember is...It's a Benchmark...The score is really irrelevant until it's compared to other data *using the same banchmarking tool*...I have some 3Dmark06 scores too...My "Old Faithful" Athlon64 3400+/X800XTPE(AGP) system scored:1970 in 3Dmark06My Athlon64 x2 4800+/XFX7800GTX OC system scored:4812 in 3Dmark06My Athlon64 FX-57/XFX7950GX2 system scored:6701 in 3Dmark06Now...If I had the time...I wouldn't mind "Learning" about those benchmarking programs...How they work ect...But I think if we pick a couple...and just use those...we can all compare performance...and monitor tweeks...And it will be benificial to all...I just happen to like Aquamark3 and 3Dmark05...3Dmark06 has something my virus software...or RootkitRevealer..or my Spyware stuff picked up on(I don't remember which)...But..I deleted the program from my system's and have no intention of re-loading it at this time...Have Fun!!

Here's an observation that I found HUGELY surprising regarding these Aqua Mark tests. Let me first say my gaming and higher end computer experience began just a couple months ago although I've really immersed myself in research and the culture during that time. All because of FS9 BTW.A couple weeks ago I posted on this thread my Aqua Maark score (91,041 for my just out of the box brand new Dell Computer. E6600 processor, 2 gigs of 6??mhz Ram, FS dedicated 7200 RPM 16mb. cache WD HD and nvidia 7900 GS GPU. I was really impressed with the images in FS9 but knew a little tweaking was in order as well as a driver update for the GPU. My only big complaint was "shimmering" in the high density urban areas and airports with tons of add ons and AI. I immersed myself in all the tweaking guides for the GPU and sim and made a number of adjustments (4 X AA, 16 X AF etc. etc.) to both the GPU, FS9 config, BIOS etc., which made me even more impressed, very happy in fact, with the quality and frame rates of FS9.Now I was under the impression that Aqua Mark3 would standardize most of the variables so that when we looked at different scores we knew we were pretty much comparing apples to apples, not apples to elephants. To my surprise today when I ran the test (after all the tweaking and the 91.47 driver update) I found my score had dropped by more than half to about 41,000. I ran the test a few times after a reboot etc.. On reflection I wondered if all my tweaking had reduced the score, which may not be a bad thing because I tweaked for "quality" not performance but the test "supposedly" equalizes those variables. So then I immediately went to the Nvidia control panel and over rided(sp?) my settings by just adjusting the slider to the left for "performance". To my astonishment my score jumped to 114,000. The conclusion being, for me at least, these tests do not equalize all the variables by any means. A system that is set up for the best quality will definitely give lousy scores whereas a system set up for performance and poor quality will give great scores, by a factor of almost 3:1 in my case.Just to further add, I get framerates in the mid to high twenties in the PMDG 747 over KSEA with tons of add on AI maxed out, about 85% on most of the sliders although weather is just set to "very high", mesh, scenery, FSNav, Google Earth (networked computers) and so much other stuff I've lost track (38 Gigs in fs9 directory). Even dawn, dusk or night conditons never bring my FRs below 20+.All in all I'm exceedingly happy with the system and feel confident that with a little more tweaking and some minor upgrades over time it will carry me well into the future with FS although I haven't installed FSX and have no intention to for the next year, FS9 and the addons are just too cool for this rookie that what I don't know won't hurt me. I'll add that I'm a real screenshot buff and feel I've got a pretty critical eye when it comes to photography and my quality is right up there with some of the best I see in the screen shots forums.
