October 12, 200619 yr My spec was:Athlon XP 3200+1024 RAM128mb Geforce FX5900XTI picked up a BFG 512MB Geforce FX7600 for a hundred quid. Boy what a difference it has made. Previously i was receiving loads of blurries and the water looked horrible. I had to reduce my anti-aliasing/anistopic filtering and screen resolution to get decent frame rates. Not only that, the scenery looked a little ugly and the trees/autogen didnt look very good. With the new card i cranked up the res to 1280 x 1024 and put anti-aliasing and anistopic filtering to 4x and the sim looks absolutely beautiful. No noticable drop in performance. No blurries and the scenery is very sharp and clean. With the FSX demo i am getting 15FPS with everything at medium high and water effects on full. 15FPS may not sound like much but i found it to be pretty smooth. FSX comes out here in the UK tomorrow. With the autogen fix i reckon it should be pretty awesome!Heres a screenie:
October 12, 200619 yr As an added bonus, you now have a spare dustbuster to use around the house (or was that the 5800 that earned the infamous dustbuster moniker) :-lolSeriously though, 'tis truly a great feeling when a good value upgrade yields such a noticable performance improvement. :-)Gary 9800X3D | 4090 | 64GB | 2+1TB NVME | 2TB SSD | 2TB HDD | 85/50/43” TVs | Quest 3 | DOF H3 Motion Rig | Buttkicker | T.16000M Flight Kit MSFS @ 4K Ultra DLSS Performance FG 80 FPS | VR VDXR Godlike 80Hz SSW | MSFS VR DLSS Quality, Ultra Preset - Windows 11 Acer Nitro 5 | i5-11400H | RTX 3060 6 GB | 32GB DDR4 | 15.6" FHD IPS 144Hz | 2 x 512 GB SSD | Windows 11

Forsooth, we are in the presence of a veritable wordsmith, of which the simulacrum of said personage has hitherto declined to honour us with his appearance. A lexicographer of such note imbues all who encounter his verbiage with a diversification of the linguistic demeanour in his possession.God, I need a beer!
October 12, 200619 yr The 7600 is a great little card plus you got the 512mb version which is even better. Along with the AMD chip single core chip which seems to run FSX better. You should do alright in FSX for a while.Just to add most sites thank that price and performance wise the nivida 7600 is the best choice.
October 12, 200619 yr Hey, you have the same memory timings as me. :) :)hahahaha. Glad your new card is working out.RhettAMD 3700+, eVGA 7800GT 256, ASUS A8N-E, PC Power 510 SLI, 2 GB Corsair XMS 3-3-3-8, etc. etc. Rhett 7800X3D ♣ 96 GB G.Skill Flare ♣ Gigabyte 4090 ♣ Crucial P5 Plus 2TB
October 12, 200619 yr are you sure it's a FX7600 and not just a 7600gs?? I am looking for your card to compare it to mine and I just can't find it. I have a geforce 7600gs but it's only 256mb. There is a 7600gs overclocked that is 512.
October 13, 200619 yr Hi Davewins, yes i have the 512mb 7600gs that is overclocked.100 pounds is 186 dollars. Stuff on this side of the pond tend to be quite expensive but the improvements are definitely worth it for me.
