Hi All, Just a little info about my problems with ATI software and a ATI capture card (tv) Yes I know has nothing to do with FSX but hear me out. First off ATI offers upgraded software for it's TV TUNERS which I installed and thats when all went bad. The TV TUNER failed to function . I un installed the software and that when all #### broke loose. I contacted ATI on line and after several days they sent me a link to a software that ran to clear the register of the bad software. Which it did not do. but they did also send a problem reporting tool that I found to be very useful in that it shows all items in the register. What I found was that the original software was removed from the add or remove list but was still in the register. So you could see where I am going with this. So much for ATI.TONY

FWIW, my ATI tuner (9600XT) also broke with the latest upgrades. Have not fixed it yet. Good luck.

The TV and media player on my (now son's) X800 AIW doesn't work with any driver newer than Cat 6.1. To get back to Cat 6.1 I have to uninstall all graphics drivers, run driver cleaner 3 and clear anything ATI, reinstall the AIW drivers off the original disk it came with, then update to Cat 6.1. Any other sequence and the above mentioned features remain broken.As you can imagine, my son now sticks with Cat 6.1.Gary

RICH, Try some of the older software, Thats the reason for this post that the register is not cleaned out properly and I sometimes wonder if most of the people that have ATI type video cards and seem to have problems that are some how related. GOOD LUCKTONY
