Video problem with Bloom

Featured Replies

I have a problem with bloom when it is enabled.Doesn't matter if I'm in full screen or windowed mode...Bloom makes everything very blurry or fuzzy when it's enabled - the second I turn it off everything is clear again.Take a look at these full size unedited comparisons.....first one is bloom on, then offhttp://forums.avsim.net/user_files/171185.jpghttp://forums.avsim.net/user_files/171186.jpg

That's what bloom is - computed fuzziness. It must apply to all light sources not just selected ones. I suppose you could try sharpening the image using the GC driver but ultimately what is really needed is a hot key to turn bloom and off to suit. This seems to be another one of the FS features that gets introduced in the first version, then takes the next before they get it spot-on. Remember clouds, autogen and VC's?Allcott

No way....I see plenty of screenshots without this blurry factor to it.Does everyone get this when they enabled bloom? The other funny thing about bloom is that the runway lights appear through the VC lol

I get the same "blurry" type look with bloom enabled. Looks pretty much identical to what you have there. One bug/error I see with bloom with my present vid driver, is that when in map view (F12), certain zoom levels cause the screen to go all-white.RhettAMD 3700+ (@2310 mhz), eVGA 7800GT 256 (Guru3D 93.71), ASUS A8N-E, PC Power 510 SLI, 2 GB Corsair XMS 2.5-3-3-8 (1T), WD 250 gig 7200 rpm SATA2, CoolerMaster Praetorian case

ok well then that's two others who have the same...personally I think bloom makes the screen look like crap... excuse the language but the cool lighting effect could have been much better without blurring all the gauges etc...
