Opinions on cirrus flight yoke and padel

Featured Replies

HiI was wondering if you could please share your experience/opinionson the cirrus flight yoke and padel.I am fs2004 fan and have pmdg 747 and level d 767.I have got the ch yoke, padel and the flightstick.I find both the yoke and the padel to be little sticky -even though I lubricate them using a silicone lubricant.Could you please tell me are the cirrus products more smooth-at the price we would hope so and how do you rate them compared to ch yoke and padel.I hope you will help me to convenience my wife I should buy the cirrus products.:D qas

You should look around for a better lubricant.I found spray type silicon to be fine for largemovements of the yoke but very sticky for small movements. The best I have found is called "Dri-lube" lubricant, sold by auto stores here in Australia. It is a hard wax in the shape of a large pencilwhich you just rub on. It really does give a very smooth result. You have to reapply it about once a week or it too willbecome sticky. If you can find something like this where you liveuse rubbing alcohol to remove the silicon and then apply the wax.Could be a bit harder getting the silicon out of your peddles.gb

After deciding that $600 was just too much to spend on a new yoke right now, I solved a lot of my objections to the "stickiness" of my CH Yoke by programming and properly calibrating the rocker switch on the left top handle for the trim function (I think it's buttons 8 and 9, but I'm not sure and I'm not home right now). It has all but eliminated the need for minor corrections using the yoke movement, making my flying much more controllable. If you haven't done that yet, give it a try. That one simple little change made a world of difference for me.Obvious, but not to me at first! ;-)Chuck
