July 23, 200718 yr "Bezel compensation" is something I haven't run across. Is this a third party program? I've used a dual monitor, dual view (non-spanned) with FSX's Vcockpit. I set a forward view in the Vcockpit on one monitor, then opened a second Vcockpit window. I then drug this new Vcockpit view to the second monitor and aligned it to the first. If I had a third / forth / fifth / etc monitor, the procedure would have just repeated. FSX has a function that allows us to lock the windows so the pan function moves all the windows together. It really didn't work too well. The horizon constantly split and the windows never stayed matched up too well. Maybe this bezel compensation function is what I was missing. Could you describe where we can implement this function? Sounds hopeful.
July 23, 200718 yr Sam- In your car, looking out at the road ahead and to the sides, there is always a slice of the scene hidden by the pillars (I'm old enough to remember when we called them posts). In FS, when using multi views, the views left & right need to be adjusted so that there is "apparently" a segment of scenery always hidden by the monitor bezels. Failure to do this causes the horizon to be misaligned when the plane rolls- and also causes other misalignment such as runway lines etc.The solution is to change the angle of view for the outer monitors. Normally View RFwd commences at 45
July 23, 200718 yr Hi Alex,With your configuration, can you look up and down in the virtual cockpit and maintain alignment? My screens fold into each other at the top if I look down and at the bottom if I look up. If yours don't, can you tell me how you addressed this?
July 23, 200718 yr Zinja- I don't use Virtual- only 2D panel on main monitor with all popups open and displayed on the outer monitors- including kneeboard/checklists. Everything is easily readable/ no zooming and always instantly available for settings. My experiments with Virtual were not very satisfactory- any way I prefer 2D for the reasons above. Alex Reid
July 23, 200718 yr Thanks for the response. I'll try 2D. I have TrackIR and I enjoy the feeling the that I'm "looking around" the cockpit. Maybe the 2d thing will suffice in it's place and I can buy another PCI-Express card.
