Quad Owners: List your (FSX) load core temps...

Featured Replies

My quad core temps are below running FSX, and under full 4 core load,if you can post yours adding other details too it would be great...Note: With the quads, most cpu core temp monitors are low by 15C. Except Rightmark CPU Clock utility which is correct, or with SpeedFan 4.32 you can add a +15C offset to the core temps.I like speedfan as you can watch your temps, cpu load, and control the fan speeds too, (run Speedfan as admin in Vista to see all info)CPU: Q6700 G0Clocked at: 3Ghz (300x10)vCore: 1.2625 bios, 1.23 SpeedfanMB: Asus P5K DeluxeCase: Basic Antec case 2x 120mm fans, and cpu side fanRoom Temp: 23CSystem Temp: 37C Idle, 46C loadCPU Core Temps: 38C Idle, 49-55C 1 core load, 67C 4 core load Temps reported in: Speedfan +15C offset on coresCPU Cooler: Stock Intel Be interested to hear other results, I have a TR Extreme 120 cooler I'm thinking of installing but not sure I need it as 90% of the time I'm only using 1-2 cores anyhow...

I don't know, with temps hovering near 60 with only FSX running, I'd install the cooler. 60 isn't insanely high but still, it's getting warm....and you can't hurt your cpu by keeping it cooler hehe

That's why I posted, hoping to see what temps others are getting. Intel rates the 6700 as good to 71C cpu case temps, so a core a 60C still has a lot of headroom?Found another good core temp tool, simply called Core Temp it also reports the quad temps correctly.
