October 9, 200718 yr I assume by your choice of Intel mobo that you aren't planning on overclocking, in which case the E6850 is a good choice. You can save a few bucks by going for an 8800GTS 640MB instead of the GTX 768MB, as it will make barely any difference in FSX, and consider using that saving to upgrade to DDR2-800 memory. Other than suggesting a quality PSU of 600-700W, the rest looks good.Gary 9800X3D | 4090 | 64GB | 2+1TB NVME | 2TB SSD | 2TB HDD | 85/50/43” TVs | Quest 3 | DOF H3 Motion Rig | Buttkicker | T.16000M Flight Kit MSFS @ 4K Ultra DLSS Performance FG 80 FPS | VR VDXR Godlike 80Hz SSW | MSFS VR DLSS Quality, Ultra Preset - Windows 11 Acer Nitro 5 | i5-11400H | RTX 3060 6 GB | 32GB DDR4 | 15.6" FHD IPS 144Hz | 2 x 512 GB SSD | Windows 11
October 9, 200718 yr As you've opted for 4GB RAM I assume you're installing a 64-Bit OS (or planning to upgrade soon?)Otherwise I'd go for 2GB of DDR2-800 insteadRegardsJim
October 9, 200718 yr Looks great!Just one thing, is I'd be tempted to wait for the new Penryn CPUs since they are due any day now and FSX needs every thing it can get :) Processor: Intel Core i7 [email protected] Graphics Card: Gigabyte GTX670 OC RAM: Corsair Vengeance 8GB DDR3-1866 [9-9-9-24-2T] Motherboard: Asus P8Z68 Pro / Gen 3 Best Ever FSX Tip: Adaptive Vertical Sync 1/2 Refresh Rate

October 11, 200718 yr 45nm: wait for the new CPUs, we are seeing 30% improvement in FSX. And I wouldn't waste money on the 8800 now with DX10.1 cards and the Vista SP just around the corner. It's a whole new ballgame come November.
