I've used every configuration of words to attempt to "search" for the answer to this question. How can I assign the buttons on my external(n52) keypad to work the Garmin 500 GPS? In the Learning Center it says "keys can be mapped-see 'using the keyboard' which did not help. Is the only way to go by purchasing FSUIPC, or am I just not looking in the right places?hope this is the right forum!!thanks for any help! skip

I assume that you have not tried opening the Settings section on keyboard assignments.For FS2004 from the main page - Settings - Control Assignments - Select the keyboard device - and make the assignments you want. There are 18 different GPS specific button commands possible in FS2004.(Within a flight Options > Controls > Assignments)FSX has many, many more assignment options for the GPS.The first thing I always do when I setup FS is change the E, M, P & Y key assignments so that I don't accidentally kill a flight when using the multiplayer chat window.
