November 14, 200718 yr Can someone explain to the why this is happening with my FS9, my older 91.47 series drivers did not do this? I get major shimmering on the ground. Its hard to show via the pic. Is there a setting somewhere that I have to adjust...I have tried all the diff settings.ThanksBillhttp://forums.avsim.net/user_files/180528.jpg Asus Tuf Gaming Plus B550 - Ryzen 7 5800X3D - Asus GeForce 4080 RTX OC Edition - 64GB DDR4 (3600Mhz) - EVGA 850W Power Supply - 2X 1 TB NVME PCIE gen 4 - Windows 11 (25H2)
November 14, 200718 yr Author I have the new grass textures installed from photograss.zip here at avsim and the new drivers really makes them show up in the sime like a sore thumb.Bill Asus Tuf Gaming Plus B550 - Ryzen 7 5800X3D - Asus GeForce 4080 RTX OC Edition - 64GB DDR4 (3600Mhz) - EVGA 850W Power Supply - 2X 1 TB NVME PCIE gen 4 - Windows 11 (25H2)

November 14, 200718 yr Author Thanks Gary for the reply, my settings in the sim are:Mipmapping: the highest setting (i think its 8)filtering: trilinearif I revert back to the my older drivers, then the problem goes away, its seem to be somthing related to the newer drivers. Thanks,Bill Asus Tuf Gaming Plus B550 - Ryzen 7 5800X3D - Asus GeForce 4080 RTX OC Edition - 64GB DDR4 (3600Mhz) - EVGA 850W Power Supply - 2X 1 TB NVME PCIE gen 4 - Windows 11 (25H2)
November 14, 200718 yr Wow, 94.71 is a really old driver. If you search the forums you will find many references to a program called Ntune which gives you much greater control on the newer driver settings. It requires some understanding to create a profile and attach an exe to it but it is worth the effort.I too found 163.75 to be no good and use the previous 163.71 which work well. Its important to run a good cleaner after removing one driver and before installing another, again much good advice can be found in these forums.A mip setting of 8 will cause shimmering on any system, a value of 4 is recommended.Regards JohnCore2 Duo 66002048 MB DDR160GB HDDNVidia 7950 512mbCH Products Yoke & PedalsHead TrackerRC4AShttp://fs2crew.com/linepilot.jpg
November 14, 200718 yr Author What does Mips do to the sim for the textures. I recall with my older drivers that turning down the mips made the tex look horrible, then when I cranked it to 8, it was perfect with barely any shimmer.Do you think the drivers are advance for my 6800GT?Thanks,Bill Asus Tuf Gaming Plus B550 - Ryzen 7 5800X3D - Asus GeForce 4080 RTX OC Edition - 64GB DDR4 (3600Mhz) - EVGA 850W Power Supply - 2X 1 TB NVME PCIE gen 4 - Windows 11 (25H2)
