December 30, 200718 yr Anyone have any ideas of letting MWave assemble a computer from the components you pick out. It cost only 79 bucks...seems reasonable. Any ideas on this company? Randy
December 30, 200718 yr Randy,I bought several BAREBONE systems from Mwave for the past 10 years. Last October, I needed components that they did not have in a barebone system. I ended up getting all the components I wanted and had them assemble it and test it for $79. It is not the PERFECT company, but it is better than others. I was happily satisfied with the outcome.Need any questions abswered, let me know.Abe
January 3, 200818 yr Thanks for your reply Abe. I have read a lot about MWave and my conclusion is that MWave is probably in most situations as good as NewEgg. NewEgg does not have assemble and test option.I am surprised MWave does...or any of the direct buy sites. For only 79 bucks it is a heck of a deal if all goes off well. I am sure I could build it myself but would save me lots of time and maybe some trouble spots. It has been many years since I did my own build and lots of changes. Used to build every 6 moths when I worked in Saudi. Can't afford that now...LOL I have to say that what I am looking at from MWave would cost me around 2400 bucks from a site. Of course I will not get a 3 year warranty as I might with a site built. I guess one pays the money and takes their chances. Regards, Randy
January 3, 200818 yr I bought one of their prebuilt Pentium 3s, obviously years ago. It was never quite right. Being on the east coast and them on the west coast, it was nearly impossible to get a hold of anyone who cared. There were some fundamental problems like it wouldn't shutdown, it would require a power off and sometimes not even power up. The modem they put in never worked. After that, I only build my own systems. 10700k / Gigabyte 3060
January 3, 200818 yr Compared to Cyberpower, Mwave is much better. Practically there is an issue with all builders. The reason I picked Mwave several times, was PROXIMITY, I live less than 40 miles away. And whenever I had an issue with them, I called them up and drove up and resolved it. Is it perfect, of course not. Again, compared to other vendors, it's acceptable.Abe
