xp64 bit +4gb ram or vista 32 bit+2gb ram

Featured Replies

im setting up a dual drive system, and am curious if I should install xp 64bit with 4gb of ram, or vista 32bit with 2gb of ram? I don't want to go out and purchase the 64bit vista, but I guess using that would probably make the most sense, no?1 drive will be for fs2004, the other for fsx.My computer is:p5k moboe8400 o/c 4ghzram (deciding on whether to go for 2gb or 4gb)i want a system that can handle both fs9 and fsx, so the software is kind of important to me as well. I like the pmdg 737, and since it's not available for fsx, i use it in fs2004.thanks,Michael

My bet would be on XP Professional 64 Bit.Get the 120 day demoversion and try it (FREE download and FREE activation key) - if it runs upgrade to the full version by doing an in-place upgrade (repair install worked for me).Christian

I would give some serious thought to possibly one dedicated drive partitioned for your OSes, one dedicated drive for FS9 and one dedicated drive for FSX. Considering the prices of storage theses days its a cheap way to get better performance out of your sims.

I purchased a second hard drive to have dedicated to FSX while FS9 is still on the original hard drive. I'm very pleased with the results. I started a thread sometime back about this very subject.
