VISTA Tweaks

Featured Replies

Guys, I've just installed Vista 64 SP1 and would like to read on the known tweaks that:1. Simplify the new interface as much as possible (removing all extras and making it basically barebone for running games) and make it recongizeable to an experienced WinXP user.3. Remove unnecessory programs and PROCESSES for running MSFS/gamesCan you please post your tweaks and the links you liked on this.Thanks.

Hello Dirk,If I understand you correctly, your best chance for it to look as XP, is to select the Classic Windows Theme, that itself will already give you a boost in performance since it disables most fancy, memory hogging services like the Aero Interface and such.Removing programs and services, differs from user to user. What you can do is us MSCONFIG to disable any programs/services that run on startup and you know that you dont need/want, that route disables things permanently.Another route you can go is to use for example something like [a href=http://www.docsdownloads.com/enditall-1.htm]EndItAll2[/a]A good source amongst several for tweaking you can find here [a href=http://www.tweakvista.com/]TweakVista[/a]Hope this gets you somewhat on your way, and Im sure other will give you their ideas also.Regards,

>Hello,>Look at http://www.blackviper.com/>A lot of information availableHah! Thanks, guys, I can see now little has changed since the early days of WinXP. I'm not intimidated anymore, can't wait to compare the performance of FSX SP2 on Vista 64. I'll let you know if I find anything specific to Vista64 Sp1.
