May 4, 200818 yr In game, when you make a change in the graphics settings, do you need to exit the game and restart before it has a effect? And 2nd. If in game you pause FSX and go into Nhancer and change the profile settings either global or profile, do you need to exit and restart FSX?I am at that point where I THINK i have acheived the best picture result I can with my current setup. I still cannot get rid of the shakes and jaggies on runways and taxiways.I make changes in game and cannot see any effect. Thanks, Jim
May 5, 200818 yr Hi,The last time I tested nHancer any change I did in nHancer FSX profile had an immediate impact in FSX, which I had running all the time. I made FSX reload the scenery to make sure. I never quit nHancer.I doubt that changing the global profile would matter as long that you make sure that nHancer has the FSX profile as the active on.Ulf B
May 5, 200818 yr Thanks. After fooling around with settings for so long, you begin to wonder of anything is actually changing. Jim
May 5, 200818 yr Dont know what GPU you have but I use nHancer and have found that for me I have Ansiotropic Filtering set in FSX and have it set to app contolled in nHancer, turn off AA in FSX and set it to 4x multisample in nHancer I seem to get a much smoother sim. I lock my framerate in not so busy areas at 28 and have it at unlimited in busy area. The most important thing is to keep your HD defragged. I defrag mine every 2 or 3 weeks using O&O defrag. May 5, 200818 yr I have O&O and cannot tell any difference other than those pretty blocks all nice and lined up.The most important thing Ive done is use end it all to kill all uneeded background proccesses and msconfig to stop windows progs.I use AOL, I know, DO NOT use their Mcafee free programs. They clogged up the system so bad I needed to reload from scratch. Thanks for the advice. If I could run FSX and all my paywares without having to go online, I would get rid of ALL the security junk and unplug it.That in itself would be a BIG boost.
