New Monitor

Featured Replies

Hey everyone, I am looking to upgrade my current monitor (19" CRT...old I know) to something BIG. I was thinking at first about a projector, however I want something with crisp clear picture (ie. Hi Def). I was also looking at LCD Monitors around the 28" size (I would go higher but they seem to increase in price rather drastically). I have also considered LCD TV's (which I can get at a Larger size vs. a Monitor for the same price). Does anyone that uses these have any advice as to which choice would offer me the best performance/picture for the price? What do I need to look for when comparing these? I need to stay around $600 and would like a size of around 30" (give or take) or bigger to truly enjoy my flightsim experience. Thanks!Anthonyps. I am leaning towards an LCD TV (bc of the price for a larger size). Will these give a good clear picture or will the resolution be off so that everything looks distorted?

Mc Crash,Thanks for the link, looks like a good deal. It just so happens that I saw this just before checking your post...http://www.bestbuy.com/site/olspage.jsp?sk...d=1203815033908Does anyone know what the difference between the two would be (besides the higher resolution with the monitor)? Would the picture be that much better with the monitor? Thanks again!

Like you mentioned earlier......GO BIG.I use a Westinghouse 47" HDTV and a 37" monitor both running @ 1920x1080. And a 3rd Dell 27" monitor running @ 1920x1200. Couldn't be any happier.

LOL thanks ABE. I dont think that I could get all three of those on my budget! ;) I think that I am going with the one I mentioned above...and if I dont like it I can just return it! Thanks guys for the info and opinions!
