Strange 3 second USB joystick lag

Featured Replies

Very strange effect recently with my Saitek X36 joystick: there is a lag of about 3 seconds between a movement of the stick and Windows XP detecting the movement. I first thought it was a problem in FS2004 (makes it impossible to control a plane!), but subsequent tests show the effect in the Windows/ControlPanel/GameControllers/Calibration screen with FS not running.FS2004 frame rates remain extremely good.No warnings show in Device Manager. The X36 is USB, and I have lots of other USB devices attached, most but not all through powered USB hubs.Recently installed USB items:Saitek pedalsTrackIR 4Logitech microphone/earphonesUSB item installed for a long time:Saitek X36lots of GoFlight modulesPrinterNext step is to remove things one at a time, try other controllers etc, but I wondered if anyone else has seen this with USB devices?--Bryn

>but I wondered if anyone else has seen this>with USB devices?Yes, if all, or almost all of the USB ports on the system are being used, the USB bandwidth may be getting saturated. Also if youre using an unpowered USB hub (i.e. one that does not have a plug-in external power supply), the same may occur if all or nearly all the ports are being used by power hungry devices.
