November 25, 200817 yr Commercial Member For SLI to work correctly, you must have two same model cards. Brands do not matter and clock speeds do not matter as long as they are the same model. Furthermore it is recommended that the amount of RAM be the same on both cards, otherwise it will default to using the total lower RAM of the two cards. The new 180 forceware, as far as I know, does allow you to use two different gpu's if one of them is assigned PhysX tasks and the other does the rendering. If I am wrong about any of this I am sure that someone here will correct me.Finally, SLI brings no real benefits to FSX unless you run ultra high resolution (24" or bigger) with lots of AA.Konrad Konrad
November 25, 200817 yr Here's the email I just sent to xfx. "I have 2 Vcards driving 3 monitors. The xfx 98+ and 84GS. I updated to the new 180 driver by removing the old 178. The new 180 driver would only recognize the 98+ and its 2 monitors. TM saw the 84, but it was yellowed out. I selected update driver for the 84 and windows installed the old 178 for Both Vcards. Then all 3 monitors were up, but Both vcards were on the 178. That's no good. I want the new driver. So, I simply ran the 180 install package right over the existing 178 driver. Now the 98+ is on the 180, and the 84GS is on the 178. All 3 monitors are up. It worked (I think!), but is this right? Thx,"You might be getting the same thing. (note, this is NoT for SLI)
