May 15, 200521 yr I am using the paintkit for PMDG's B1900C. There is no template for the underside of the elevators, just the top. When I open the bitmap file for the L side in the FS directory it is just black. I assume it is the inverted side of the top of the elevators. I've painted the top side but the underside doesn't show as being painted. Is there any way to paint the underside of the elevators for PMDG's 1900C?Any help most appreciated.Ken --- Jim ---
May 15, 200521 yr I don't know how the PMDG 1900 is mapped, I'd just look through all of the bmps in the texture folder until you come across a paint that resembles the underside. A trick I use when I'm not sure where something is located, remove a single bmp and fire up FS (or use FS repaint) and see if the part you're looking for has disappeared and turned grey. If not then return it and remove another :) ---------------------------------------------------------------------------
May 15, 200521 yr Author I did look through all the bmps with FSPaint but can't find anything that resembles the underside. I did paint the upper side and it appears fine but the underside is not painted. I'm just at a loss to figure out what they are using for the underside. I did notice none of their paints have the underside painted either. If they are using the top side for the bottom and I paint the top side, wouldn't the paint appear on the bottom also?I'm at a loss on this. I'll try removing a single bmp at a time and see what turns up. Thanks for your suggestions.Ken --- Jim ---
May 16, 200521 yr Hey Ken :)Yeah, if the underside was mapped to the top then it would. I doubt it would be because no one would map important parts like that to one piece for repainting issues. Apart from MS of course.. :)Let me know how it goes! ---------------------------------------------------------------------------
May 16, 200521 yr Author Just wanted to let you know that I did as you suggested and removed each bmp one at a time and finally found the underside of the elevators. It was right under my nose all the time and I didn't recognize it. It was on the engines bmp template. Thanks again for your help!Ken --- Jim ---
May 16, 200521 yr Glad you got it sorted! Happy paintin'! :) ---------------------------------------------------------------------------
