January 20, 200323 yr I am from the US and now have been finding myself flying in Europe mainly GB. I have been trying to find an overhead view of Heathrow that shows the taxiway lettering similar to what Clearance Unlimited has for most US airports. Also similar to what I can Get on Airnav.com. Can anyone point me in the right direction to find this if it is available.Thank you Andrew Andrew
January 20, 200323 yr Hi Andrew,in theory you should be able to go to http://www.ais.org.uk and download the terminal charts, which give you all the taxiways, holding points etc. You will need to register (it's free). Up to this point, all is fine and dandy - registration is straightforward, the confirmation e-mail arrives within seconds. But now the trouble starts - when I try to log in, I just get a bunch of html and javascript errors and finally the 'failed login' page, which at this point appears to have become the AIS homepage... If it's my internet settings, I wish they would tell you what your settings are supposed to be.Maybe you have more luck than me.Cheers,Gosta.Edit: It does work, but it may take a while for your login to be activated (about an hour in my case), even though the e-mail says that your account has been enabled.http://hifi.avsim.net/activesky/images/wxrebeta.jpg
January 22, 200323 yr Yep, plenty of complaints about the farcical AIS site! It used to be really straightforward to get all your Aerodrome information and NOTAMs before they decided to revamp the site. Pilots are up in arms about the NOTAM system - it's absolutely awful and many people can't use it. I do have a selection of airport diagrams etc. in .pdf format at home. PM me and I may be able to email you one or two.
January 23, 200323 yr You could also try getting the charts athttp://www.vatsim-uk.net/vatsim-uk/Select on the left, "London ACC", Then "Heathrow EGLL" , then "Charts" from the top right corner. Then download the charts.regardsTim
