July 4, 200619 yr I thought if you "painted" something using 0,0,0 black it would should up as "invisable" in MSFS? Am I wrong?? Apparently so, it doesn't work. Is there a way to do this? Thankshttp://publish.hometown.aol.com/p3superb/i...s/sign_name.jpg
July 4, 200619 yr This is related to alpha channel and not the actual textures. However, the alpha channel has to be defined as either controlling reflection or transparency.. only the creator of the model can do this. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------
July 4, 200619 yr Ahh. Thanks for the info Morganhttp://publish.hometown.aol.com/p3superb/i...s/sign_name.jpg
July 4, 200619 yr No problem :) ---------------------------------------------------------------------------
July 5, 200619 yr Commercial Member When you're working with panel and gauge bitmaps 0,0,0 black does indeed produce a transparent pixel in the sim. Doesn't apply with exterior textures though. Must have been a tidbit you picked up on one of the panel design forums or something :) .BTW Morgan, been playing with DXTBmp lately and I gotta hand it to you, DXTBmp produces a much better DXT3 conversion than Imagetool does. It has become my "tool of choice" for that function at least :) . I just wish I could figure out all that "444-4", "888-8", "555-1" stuff. I certainly wouldn't want to get caught reading the help files you know :) .Jim
July 6, 200619 yr Glad you enjoy the program, I used imagetool years ago when I first started repainting.. discovered DXTBmp and never went back :)I wouldn't worry too much about those numbers, I can't remember what they mean either.. if I remember they are mentioned in the help files somewhere ;) ---------------------------------------------------------------------------
