June 12, 200718 yr Hi. I need a software that I can use to make repaints for many types of planes for FSX. Can someone tell me where to get a software of such sort?I heard of FSpainter but where can i get it?
June 12, 200718 yr FSRepaint is not yet abailable for FSXI use Martin Wright's FREE DXTbmp to convert fileformats for painting and PhotoShop to repaint the texture files.http://www.mnwright.btinternet.co.uk/programs/dxtbmp.htm
June 18, 200718 yr Hey, you can get Photoshop pretty much any shop that sells software. A good place to look is ebay.. you can sometimes get good deals there :) ---------------------------------------------------------------------------
June 18, 200718 yr Photoshop is the best (well most expensive)You can pick up Corel Draw suite V10 very cheap. Or even Paint Shop Pro (psp)There is a very steep learning curve. You can't just go and do a paint, you will need to learn techniques. There is a conversion utility in the FSX SDK called ImageTool - it converts the special FSX dds formatted textures to normal bitmap with alpha channel. If you extract the alphas separately, you could repaint using windows paint - but that is hard and you don't have the flexibility of photoshop etc. Also, in FSX you have bump maps and specular images to work on. Well, unless you are changing the aircraft surface (correcting rivet lines for instance), you won't need to edit the bumpmap. But specular effect is how a surface reflects light (not like FS9 type reflection)Anyway - you have some fun ahead of you. Enjoy! Chris Brisland - the repainter known as EagleSkinner is back from the dead. Perhaps. Or maybe not. System: Intel I9 32 GB RAM, nVidia RTX 3090 graphics 24 GB VRAM, three 32" Samsung monitors, Logitech yoke, pedals, switch panel, multi panel
