August 13, 200718 yr May I suggest simply making changes and see what happens. Remember to Export the alpha channel first so it can be imported intact after editing the _L.BMPP.S. I've never had the occasion to edit an _L file.http://forums.avsim.net/user_files/176607.jpg
August 13, 200718 yr Commercial Member This applies to FS9, not sure about FSX:Basically the parts of your lightmap that have black on the underlying alpha channel will be "on" whenever any lights are on. Parts of the lightmap with white on the underlying alpha channel will be "on" only when the landing lights are on. If, for example, you find that your cabin windows and tail logo light splash only light up with the landing lights on, put a patch of black on the alpha in that area and they will light normally when the nav lights are on.Incidentally, black or white only on a lightmap's alpha. Anything in between is a "no-no". Gardients will cause parts of the lightmap to change brightmess when the landing lights are switched on.http://www.cat-tamer.com/attach/b767_l.jpgJim
