Aircraft.cfg help

Featured Replies

This is the repaint that I am trying to package. http://i134.photobucket.com/albums/q120/kbohme/GCS0027-1.jpgHere is my question:I would like to alter the aircraft.cfg file so that I can use the model and sound from another aircraft folder.I would like the installer to install this aircraft into its own directory, but instead of duplicating the model and sound subfolders I would just like the aircraft.cfg for this plane to be directed to the default fsx 747 folder and use its model and sounds...is this even possible ?Thanks in advance for any help :)

It looks like FSX works the same way as FS9 in this department.Open up the panel and sound cfg files. You can then do the following..For the panel cfg:fltsimalias=b747_400panelFor the sound cfg:fltsimalias=b747_400soundHave never tried it for models but you could give it a go..Open up the model cfg:This is what it should look likemodelsnormal=B747_400interior=B747_400_interiorMaybe try:modelsnormal=b747_400modelB747_400interior=b747_400modelB747_400_interiorMaybe someone else knows if it'll work.. but worth a try anyway :)

Just copied over a model in FS9 as an experiment and it worked fine using the standard "ailias=b747_400model" technique you normally use for sounds and panels. Might work in FSX to, try it:[fltsim]alias=b747_400modelJim
