Convert psd to 32 bit testure?

Featured Replies

I have engine texture in .psd format.I viewed it with iRfanview then saved as bmp, then used DXTbmp to make it 32bit bmp testure .... Looked real good in DXTBMP but real bad in FS9.I reloaded the the 32bit file back into DXTBMP .. looks good. Will other programs like Paint Shop read in .psd file format?Do not know if I lost the quality in the conversion or maybe MSFS9?

It looks as you have saved the file including mipmapping. You `should not do that.http://forums.avsim.net/user_files/184564.jpgTo give some brilliance to the RR logo, it might be worth making an alphalayer adding some gloss to the alu-sticker.( and some other glossy parts too.)Feel free to use this one.(save this picture to your desktop)Open your file in DXTBmp and choose to import a new alphalayer.Just import the alpha.jpg ( NO need to convert it to BMP as DXTBmp accepts jpg files) I made for you and save your file again.Mind unchecking the mipmaps option.CheersLeenhttp://forums.avsim.net/user_files/184567.jpg

Leen,I will give it a try today after printing and reviewing your instructions ... being careful to start with "original" files, back them up and use a copy of the original for the edits (keeping the include when saving box unchecked) and saving the result only once so as not to degrade the image.I appreciate your help ... extra help, in getting this logo image correct.

Having correct alphalayers improves the quality of a repaint signifficantly.Give it a try , you`ll be surprised.RegardsLeen

Just used MSPaint to cut/paste in the RR logo I got off the Rolls Royce site. Thanks for your help!I will do it again later and save as a 32 bit file and see how it looks on a 32bit AAL repaint.

As far as I can see ,you did not import the alphalayer.send me the bmp (zipped) and I`ll attatch the alpha to it.leen(monkeytail)leendejager.nlLeen
