May 7, 200818 yr Hi,As I am finishing up and testing my AC I have noticed a difference in the shine on one side of the fuselage vs the other side and I was wondering if there was a way to "strip" the aplha layer off.If I added white as an alpha or something just a touch grey will there be less shine? Thanks, \Robert Hamlich/
May 7, 200818 yr Author Ok I read that the reflection may be coded into the aircraft file, but does anyone know how I can balance out the reflection? Thanks, \Robert Hamlich/
May 8, 200818 yr I think your problem lies in the alpha-layer and NOT in the dynamic-shine wich comes from the MDL file.( not the aircraft file)Make sure the alpha layer behind the fuse files is of the same greyscale on all fuselage files. When all alpha-layers are the same and the phenomena still occurs the problem might be in the dynamic shine of the mdl file.It is very unlikely this will be the case. All liveries of this model (repaints included) should have the same problem then. So, when you download some of them and they have NOT the same problem, the solution for you lies in your alphas. It is not likely to have a mdl file with an exculsive error like this.Simple testing method.Load your model in FS and uncheck " aircraft reflections ".By doing this all effects from alpha-layers are switched off.If your problem is still there , the MDL file is responsible. The gloss from the MDL file can be manipulated but I do not think we have to go so deep with this repaint.Leen
May 8, 200818 yr Author Good suggestion, I will uncheck the reflections and see what happens. You wrote "Make sure the alpha layer behind the fuse files is of the same greyscale on all fuselage files".I do not include an alpha layer in the same file as the aircraft but rather I add the alpha as an extended bitmap in DXTBMP after I flatten the image and save it as a .BMP in Photoshop. Thanks Leen. \Robert Hamlich/
May 8, 200818 yr You wrote "Make sure the alpha layer behind the fuse files is of the same greyscale on all fuselage files".When I say fuselage-files I am talking about the texturefiles wich give the skin for the fuselage.Eg. Fuse-Left.bmp , Fuse-Right.bmpLeenPSPlease give us a screenshot 1024x768 showing us your problem.
