Force feedback i FS2004 sucks! Can this be corrected i a module?

Featured Replies

Hello.I want to write a module that takes over the FF from FS. Does any one know if this would be possible? Can you even use DirectX programing in a FS-module? In real life I am flying for my PPL (Only 10h yet) and I was very diapointed with the FF in 2004 when I brought a FF joystick. It feels totaly unnatural..I have found the following problems with MSFS FF:1. It uses constant forces instead of the self centering spring which would give a much better result avoiding the stick to sudbenly move uncontrollably.2. You must be able to trim away the forces like in a real airplane. The trim in FS just changes the interpretation of the Joystick output not the position on the joystick where the Joys. is at rest. Please send comments and suggestions.Linus

Hi.Check this out:http://www.dirks-software.ca/fs-forceMight save you a lot of time!Regards,Jim Keir

It's possible. If you want to do one check my source code for the THR gauge. It has almost everything that you need for direct input.Jos

Thank you for your feedback.FS Force is good it does the jobb. I like the idea of having a free module out there though...I will probably not do a new FF module. I hope MS wakes up and takes care of it in the next version of FS.Until then I will "evaluate" FS Force.
