777-200LR Flex Calculator

Recommended Posts

If you're referring to the assumed temperature, then no - no charts known to exist (for us FS guys at least).Even if there were charts, the assumed temperature in the 777 does not work properly. The resulting engine rating should take into account gross weight and outside air temp. PSS's version only takes weight into account.

Hello,Nope, it takes the OAT in account, not the gross weight. try, you will see. Also you will never modify the weight of the plane, but use instead an higher assumed OAT to save engines.Modifying the weight directly would modify all the fef speed automaticaly, as well as center of gravity. I f I understood you correctly.Cyrille de LattreAsus P4P800/PIV 3 Ghz/2 Giga DDRAMATI X800 GT 256 MegWin XP SP2 / FS9.1 PSS Beta tester

FLEX? for a Boeing :-) You're talking Airbus there mate, the Boeing boys will have you strung up and beaten for such a heinous crime :-). They would like it referred to as derate.I recently released a little program which will solve the exact problem you are referring to. I wrote it because it bugged me too.http://library.avsim.net/esearch.php?CatID...util&DLID=94551Contains data for the PSS 777-200 and 757-200 (PW).Hope this helps,Ian

Cyrille, yes sorry, it does only take OAT into account. However, PSS's 777 does not. It has set N1 values for each assumed temperature. Assumed Temp of 30*C always gives you 103.6% N1. If the temperature is below this value, and you enter 30*C as your assumed temp, you will actually experience a thrust increase. ie OAT is 0*C. Normal TO N1 value should be about 98.4%. Setting an assumed temp of 30*C should give you a lower value N1, derating the engines, but will actually set 103.6%, giving you 5.2& more N1.Norman said that he was waiting for word from the gauge devs about this problem, but due to his recent accident, this may be on hold for a bit, unless someone else from PSS can pick up the thread.
