March 18, 200719 yr I used voxatc in fs2004 so was excited to try it with fsx/vista ultimate.I got the blue screen of death 3 times when trying to install-the 4rth time it worked. Now in the demo-same thing-blue screen of death.Just thought you'd like to know.I will probably still rebuy for the future-first thing I noticed is the voice recognition is much better than the old version. Looking forward to it.http://mywebpages.comcast.net/geofa/pages/rxp-pilot.jpg Geofa WANTED DEAD OR ALIVE-the best Flight Sim!
March 20, 200719 yr Hi Geoffrey,The current download is supposed to be Vista compatible, make sure it is the latest one and make sure you email Tegwyn if the problem continues, you might want to zip up the err.log file and include it with the support request. March 21, 200719 yr Author Hi Zane-I have had the problem-it is intermittent but always ends with a blue screen of death. However, with the state of nvidia drivers I'd put the blame perhaps there so I'm gonna be patient and see how it ends up-though getting it multiple times during the installation is a little suspicious.I find the program astounding now though-I hadn't used it for quite a while in fs9-I don't know if it is Vista but the voice recognition is much better and the interaction with ai traffic is spectacular.2 questions-1) how does one get more of a variety of voices e.g. the controller calls in a voice, the pilot answers in the same voice, the ai traffic answers in the same voice-everyone has the same voice.2) Is there a way to have the radios "autotune"? I really hate doing it manually in the sim-way too time consuming and awkward.http://mywebpages.comcast.net/geofa/pages/rxp-pilot.jpg Geofa WANTED DEAD OR ALIVE-the best Flight Sim!
March 21, 200719 yr Hi again,I'm waiting out this Vista thing for a while... just way too much stuff on my computer that isn't compatible yet and I don't have the time to be futzing with it.Tegwyn put the male/female voice option in but I don't know if there are plans to go further than that... if it is a matter of the AT&T voices that could be an expensive option for just four or six voices. The earlier versions of VoxATC (pre AT&T) did alter the Micorsoft Mike voice to make different sounding voices and a female voice too. That method didn't work as well with the more realistic voice recordings. Making the availability of additional voices with accents could be a real nice feature. No autotuning but I can tell you I really like my ACP Compact. A note though, it doesn't seem to work very well in FSX although the key commands for radio frequency tuning are the same (some of the other key commands are different). If someone would make an ACP Compact like little box with knobs that used a true USB interface and was programmable like buttons on a USB joystick (IOW not keyboard emulator) and made it affordable (all this LED stuff is cost prohibitive) it would be a real boon for the industry.... IMHO (if that's possible!). Dr Zane Gard Sr Staff Reviewer AVSIM Private Pilot ASEL since 1986 IFR 2010 AOPA 00915027 American Mensa 100314888
