Dark Moment

Two useful sites

Recommended Posts

Most Tristar enthusiasts will probably know of these, but just in case not I post these two wonderful resources here:http://trijets.net/tristar/http://www.eucomairlines.de/Any more? Certainly, these two combined with the resources of Airliners.net offer tremendous research potential for repainters and historians. Hope these are of interest to some, anyway.MarkP.S. In our quest for the ultimate nose-up landing, I found this on the German site .... VR-HHG landing at Kai Tak.http://forums.avsim.net/user_files/129271.jpgMark "Dark Moment" BeaumontVP Fleet, DC-3 AirwaysTeam Member, MAAM-SIM[a href=http://www.swiremariners.com/cathayhk.html" target="_blank]http://www.paxship.com/maamlogo2.jpg[/a]

Mark,Now I could be all wrong on this, but:The flaps seem to be in the take off position.I could not imagine a Cathay pilot getting the aircraft into that position in the landing configuration. The changes of a tail strike would be very high, which is very bad, even if the TriStar has a tail skid.If you ever get a tail you're nick named Sparky for the rest of your career!I have not Zoomed into the picture to take a closer look at the flap setting.Nice shot...............and thanks for the heads up on those 2 TriStar websites.Ed
