February 17, 200323 yr I'm finishing a new AIBridge version but I have a doubt. Do the real TCAS show the ground planes when your plane is in the ground?Do the real TCAS show the ground planes when you are airborn?I need this info to decide if I have to filter them.ThanksJos
February 17, 200323 yr Hmmm...Certainly is a good question! As far as I am aware, neither to both. I know in reality, the Pilots can control what the Tcas see's. But why would they want to see planes on the ground? Got me wondering. Try looking up airliners.net?RegardsJohn Mc AvinueEINN/BAV 855Senior captainhttp://www.bavirtual.co.ukP 2.53 GHZ512 RAMWINXPGFORCE 4 128MB Ti4600
February 17, 200323 yr I know that TCAS uses the aircraft transponders for it's info, and I know that some airports do have aircraft use their transponders on the ground, so at those airports it might work. Overall it does not see aircraft on the ground as one of the last things on teh before takeoff chaeklist is to se the transponder to on/alt.Tim
February 17, 200323 yr You should filter out the ground aircraft. Except at a few locations, we do not operate transponders when on the ground. TCAS requires a transponder return.
February 17, 200323 yr Author Thsnks to all. I will filter to GS bellow 40 KT. That should do the feelling of transponder mode Charlie/Stdby switch.Jos
