models directory

I noticed this folder as a subfolder in fs2002. There are some subnfolders inside, a couple referring to the lear 45 and three others that reference efis. What is this stuff for, and can I safely delete the folder? thanks!Sherm

The fs2002models folder should have four subfolders labelled:EFIS_HOOPEFIS_ROADEFIS_SQUAREEFIS_TWithin each subfolder, you should have two files, an *.mdl and *.cfg file.Any other folders in the fs2002models folder are not part of the default fs2002. Why they are there and if you move or delete them may cause some aircraft you installed to have a problem. I would check to see exactly what the additional files contain before moving/deleting them.

Sherm,To see what they are go to http://ftp.avsim.com/dcforum/User_files/3e57d46c518c742b.jpgThey are probably safe to remove, just move them to a folder outside of the sim and check. If you notice a problem, move them back. I'm not sure why you would want to remove them, your only talking about 8 files (17kb)?Kurt M

Thanks for the info. I was moe curious than anything, but I remove even small files if they have no use....just my neurotic housekeeping, I guess...:-}Sherm

If you have fs2002Pro, delete the entire GMAX folder from your fs2002 folder. It is wasting about 39MB of disk space. If you want or need any of the Gamepack tools, such as Imagetool.exe or the FSModelExp.dle for GMAX, then save those files but everything else can go. BTW, its all on your FS2002Pro CDs anyway.
