June 17, 200718 yr Not willing to keep experimenting to see if this is right or not, but the only thing changed was I installed the June OS security updates yesterday. A few hours later I started FSX, got the initial splash screen but after several seconds, it just quit back to the desktop. Then I tried FS9, it loaded, but if I clicked on the menu bar it would lock up, and then I got the "send info to MS" box and then it would reload.I did a system restore back to prior to the update. FSX still wouldn't start, but FS9 did run OK. I played around with FSX and it still didn't start. I then did a back up restore that included the FSX main folder hierarchy, the %appdata% FSX data, and the My documents FSX data, and after that FSX is now working again. This is without SP1 installed (not enough free disk space on my C drive to unpack the files).scott s..
