December 23, 200619 yr I have several MegaScenery packages, and I'd like to put them on an external hard drive. How do I do that and use them in FS9?
December 24, 200619 yr Copy the directories over to the other drive and then, in FS9 go into settings and scenery. Add each of the areas under the main MegaScenery directory. For example, the Pacific NW directory has maybe 15 directories under it, each with their own 'scenery' and 'texture' subdirectories. Add the 15 directories under Pacific NW. Restart FS9 and you should be good to go. My Freeware Sceneries
December 25, 200619 yr Author Thanks! It's a long, cumbersome process, but I finally got it done and tested (by renaming the C:megaScenery directory) before deleting the directories from my C drive. It seems to have had little impact on load times; but I haven't actually flown with the relocated scenery yet.By the way, the megaScenerymegaSceneryPNW directory has 24 subdirectories, including PNWObjects. It also has 5 files: libraryUpdate.exe, sceneryTips.exe, unins000.dat, unins000.exe, and a link to the megaScenery web site. Unins000 is an uninstall log, but I don't know what the others are. Anybody know? Why are they where they are?
