More Realistic ATC call-outs question...

Featured Replies

Hi guys,I remember that there is a way to make ATC call outs more realistic. For example, in the real world ATC would not call out, " Traffic is a McDonald Douglas MD-80 at ten o'clock ", but rather just say, " ... a MD-80 at ten o'clock ". Wasn't it just a simple change/ommision in the cfg. file of the aircraft? Thanks in advance for any repliesJohn M

Just to clarify what I'm looking for,I would like to delete the aircraft make from the ATC call out, ie- " McDonald Douglas, Boeing " etc and just have them call out " MD-80, 737 " and so on. I believe the POSKY models have this deleted, but can it be 'easily' modified for the AI aircraft? I remember reading somthing about this here at the forum some time ago, but just can't find it right now. Thanks in advance,John M

:-doh Now I know why I've craved for an Egg McMuffin all morning long. You no us piluts kant spel.....we just flies them. Thanks for the link, I'll check it out when I get home....It looks like it may hold the answers I'm looking for.:-beerchug John M

It's simple John....here is an example:[GENERAL]atc_type=MCDONNELLDOUGLASs atc_model=MD80 Where it says atc type I have just added another letter so mcdonnelldouglas is not a recognised type (you could actually write anything in there ...just do not leave it blank)

Thanks, will try it tonight.John M
