April 14, 200719 yr What are theses gauges for on the F28 panel. I know in the tutorial it tells you to put the MODE SELECT to VOR LOC. But what do the other modes do on the MODE SELECT. And also what about the other to knobs. The one switch that says on/off, and the one that says pitch control. I downloaded this plane when it first came out, but didn't like the pedestal panel, but know I can't stop flying it .Great plane. Bob
April 14, 200719 yr As far as I remember this panel controls the flight director (and the autopilot if coupled to the FD):GA seems to be "go around mode" (don't know what the FD should show here, but I'd expect a certain pitch up value), OFF is self explanatory, HDG=hold heading selected by HDG bug, VOR LOC=follow tuned NAV1 VOR or LOC signal/course, AUTO APP=automatic approach mode (autoland incl. glideslope), MAN GS=similar to AUTO APP but with glide slope controlled manually (don't ask me here how exactly, is there a dial for V/S?), BB seems to mean "back beam" i.e. the back course localizer. The ALT HOLD switch is self explanatory, and the rightmost pitch control is for setting the FD to a specific pitch angle on the horizon.Hope I'm right here...Andreas Andreas, LOWW - Nihil sumus et fuimus mortales.
