What do I need to do to share my AI set with everyone?

Featured Replies

They were all downloaded from here, and I thought it would be nice to offer a US airline pack of the models and paints. Anything special I would need to do?

I suggest you re-read some of the documents that came with the various files you downloaded. You don't share anything, period.

Hi,1. If the text file of *each and every one* of the flight plans does not give you explicit permission to upload altered flight plans from their originals, you will need to get permission from each of those files' authors.2. Then you will need to list *each and every* package you used, the names of all the authors, and the fact that you have permission (or that the text file allows this) in your text file.Hope this helps,--Tom GibsonCal Classic Propliner Page: http://www.calclassic.comFreeflight Design Shop: http://www.freeflightdesign.comDrop by! ___x_x_(")_x_x___

Thanks. That was what I figured I would have to do. Mike, thanks for BITING MY HEAD OFF!!! :(

It would sure be nice if FREEware AI, which takes more time learning than I have, could be shared. :-roll This is perhaps the reason most poeple can't enjoy the better models and work of freeware offerings, because they really aren't free.World of AI is great for those who've agreed to allow it, but they don't offer near as much considering.

You're quite welcome. :( Sorry, but with that best traffic add-on thread and an amazing disregard for other people's rights and wishes, I thought it was about time to bark. Don't worry though, I don't bite. :D

Hi,That's correct. FREEware only means there is no charge for using it. There is still a significant amount of work and respect that needs to be used when thinking about re-releasing it.You are talking about Public Domain software, which is quite rare. Most authors AT LEAST want their work credited to them, no matter who releases it.That's one reason I stopped releasing panels and gauges to the big sites - they got stolen and all I got was "Thanks to all of the many gauge designers. I didn't keep track of them." Not good enough...Hope this helps,--Tom GibsonCal Classic Propliner Page: http://www.calclassic.comFreeflight Design Shop: http://www.freeflightdesign.comDrop by! ___x_x_(")_x_x___
