FS9 doesn't launch !!

Featured Replies

Hello, after trying 2 times to install FS 2004, dx9, drivers (i have a radeon 9800 pro (msi) ), i still don't understant why i can't launch FS9.My get the splashscreen (with the dc3) but then, nothing happens. But i can launch it via the safe mod. I've got a wide screen (1440*900) but putting a lower resolution (800x600 for example) doesn't fix my problem although everything worked fine last summer.I've tried all methods explained here : http://support.microsoft.com/kb/837195 but the problem is still here. (try this link if it doesn't work : http://support.microsoft.com/?scid=kb%3Ben...7195&x=13&y=15)HELP !! I want to flyy !!!Thanks,David

Didn't have time to follow the links, but did you try deleting the fs9.cfg file and then restarting? This will make FS9 create a new config file which is where most of the problems lie.

Hello, I tried but it didn't work.I will try with an old .cfg i will get from and old drive backup but i don't think it will work.Thanks.

David,You might want to try a full uninstall of FS9 and them go through the instructions in this link to make sure all registry entries are gone.http://support.microsoft.com/kb/888846Then try a clean reinstall and see if things work then. I ran FS9 on a Radeon 9800XT for years with no problems.Kim

You might also try launching FS9 directly from its original fs9.exe icon. I always use my shortcut on the toolbar and remember a few cases when, after some mixing up, FS wouldn't launch. After deleting the old shortcut and creating a new one, the problem was gone. And, as said above, deleting the fs9.cfg often helps too. But remember to make a backup copy since you may have a lot of tweaks which would be a shame to lose.Best regards,Rafal
