December 21, 200718 yr The Rebuilding Data Base box comes up when an active FS9 scenery folder does not have a current Scenery.dat file in the root of the folder - or when the Scenery.dat file does not match the contents of the folder.FS2004 is very bad about keeping scenery data in those files when the source files have been removed. The clean on exit is an attempt to flush those files so only correct data loads.

December 21, 200718 yr Commercial Member Hi Jay,as I said elsewhere, following up an initial question with the solution is a very considerate and helpful thing to do and I wish more people would do that. No one will think you're stupid for posting solutions!Not directly related to your issue but if you have a scenery library with lots of entries I recommend doing a scan once in a while with one of the available cfg checkers. I'm using Steve Greenwood's utility - http://home.earthlink.net/~smgreenwood/resources-g.shtml (utility to sort and renumber scenery.cfg entries) - since it works with FS8, FS9, and FSX and has reliably fixed my scenery.cfg countless times.Cheers, Holger
