Adding airstairs to the aircraft.....which addon?

Recommended Posts

Hi,I am getting somewhat anoyed with all aircraft without an airstair and cargo truck/ramp modeled. So I would like to know which addon program is the ultimate help to add airstairs and cargo trucks/ramps.I know there are a few to choose from,...but which one is the best one? I am not interested in adding other stuff on the airports,...just the airstair and cargo truck/ramp.

If you don't have an aircraft model that shows the airstairs when parked, then you will have to add scenery bgl's to your system. There are a few good freeware scenery programs which will do this for you. Check the utility libraries and give one a try.KJAvatarSaabAnimation.gif

Check the utility libraries and give one a try.I just wanted to know which is the best one. Even if it is a payware program. I do not want to design my own scenery library. Just need a program which comes with its own part library that can be added in an easy way. :-)

StaffanHave you seen airport enhancement services ?http://www.aerosoft.com/cgi-local/re/ibosh...i?showd,,D10333Its a bit on the expensive side if you like to fly to a lot of different airportsmore so if your favourite airports are not the payware ones that they support, but at least the base package is free to download and there are one or two airports you can use it at. Edit: Darn, Mark beat me to it! :DHejsan Staffan!Only one answer to that: AES from Aerosoft. I honestly believe on its own it's the reason why many are reluctant to moving to FSX (as of now it only supports MSFS2004 but it will probably be developed for FSX too). It adds tons of atmosphere to the airport. Only problem is that it takes a heavy toll on your credit card - you just want more and more of AES ready airports and you buy credits that you assign to airports in order to activate AES on them.

KristerThats is why this is such a great place ,there are always plenty of people willing to help even if the answer is the same Do you use aes ?I thought it was great when i used it at KBOS but as you have said when you add up the price of even your top five favourite airports the price becomes scarey It would be very easy to get carried away with the credit card and end up flying in FS9 when everyone else is using FSXIII just to justify the expense!!!Pity it dos'nt support some more freeware or even some of the stock airports Im sure more people would use it Buying credits for airports you already have would'nt be so bad:-)I know thats never going to happen but it is a great product!Mark

Hi Mark!Yep, I most definitely use AES! :) It does add up to a decent amount of money when you like me have most of the airports that AES supports, but you just have to give it a thorough thought - which airports will you actually use most and give priority to them. One also has to rememer that for each indiviual airport that is added to the supported base, the AES team has to do extra work. So to me it's not like they are greedy with the way they charge. For me AES just adds so much to the feeling in the sim - you really have a sense that you are part of a flow. Especially flying on VATSIM I used to have that empty feeling when I pulled up to a gate. Is this it? WIth AES I can just sit back with a feeling of accomplishment and watch the ground crew go about with their duties. A much softer transition to logging out, that's for sure.I do have FSX installed but haven't touched it for ages. I have too many add-ons in FS2004 that I can't live without!

Krister, Would you please give me your Aircraft Configuration values for the Level-D B767 that you use in AES ? I'm having a problem setting the airgate and the towing tug. Is it possible to have the airgate work without have the BACK stairs? Thanks jerrycwo4
