How is "777 Professional" by Flight1 ?

I wanted to get the PSS 777 for FS2004 for ages, but every time I checked the AVSIM/PSS/Boring forum--when PSS was still running it and in business--there was a raft of seemingly unresolved issues. That said, others swore that it ran well for them generally. Now there is no more PSS and the PSS forum is volunteer so I am wondering if anything ever really got properly solved and whether it worth buying the 777 Professional on CD-ROM from Flight1.Appreciate any views on this item, thanks!JS

Most of the major bugs were resolved, but many smaller ones remain. If you're after a 777, it's probably the best one available, if you can live the niggling problems.

It is probably the best plane PSS ever released..... there are 3 patches for it (i think it was 3) but if it still flies like a brick, you can use a 3rd party fde (have link on the other computer, sorry.. maybe someone else will post it?) for it or just borrow some from posky or meljet or whatever you likebugs.. bugs are mostly FMC related. if you want to just fly you probably won't notice them. they come up when you are trying to do complex things like continuances and edit flight plans with sids and stars on the go and such. the other set of bugs is with how the autopilot works.. it like a drunk kangaroo that has an epilepsy fit at random. sometimes it works, sometimes it doesnt....... frame rates are good (you can tweak that a lot with teh included menu), texture is great (even though its not photoreal) and the cockpit proportions seem proper.only thing missing are window reflections but those dont stand out too bad actually on this model.night lightning in the cockpit will make anyone happy. its pmdg/ld quality.

I agree. It's a great T7. Some climb and descent issues but nothing drastic. And yes it banks like a fighter jet, very different fde behaviour to, say, the PMDG747 which is of a similar size and weight. Nevertheless it's an old favourite of mine and with a decent free third party sound set, it really is great to fly from the VC.

I think these posts reconfirm that this T7 is excellent but its promise is not totally fulfilled. I'll reflect further. I had the original PSS T7 in 2000 and it was a great leap forward in its time. Might have to square the circle and just dive in here.Appreciate the posts, thanks.JS
