Fence placement

Featured Replies

Can anyone tell me or explain exactly how to place fences I have the finneyground crosshairs with the fence but no matter where I put it or line it up, the panel just will NOT line up with the other fence panels, whats the secret in placing these things its driving me mad!

If I am not mistaken, the LOM program by ScruffyDuck has a fence alignment feature. You can check it out at http://www.scruffyduck.com/I believe Arno Gerretson has an object placing program whose name I cannot think of at the moment and it may also have a fence alignment feature. If you are using the EZ or Instant Scenery Object Placeing programs, neither have a fence alignment option that I am aware of, but you can slow down the Sim rate (R and - twice) so when you are slewing with keys, the motion is much slower and therefore more precise. Fence placement this way is time consuming, but it can be done.Hope these ideas are helpful.

I usually have the fence model in a library and place it using EZ or Instant Scenery. Time consuming yes but this is the quickest way. If each segment doesn't quite line up I'm not overly worried.

Just to add to Max's comments..........Slowing down the sim speed (R and the minus sign twice) will make precision slew movements using your keys much easier.Just remember to restore the sim speed when you are done.
