A320 Flight Model

Hi all,I own the fs2crew products for the ATR, 767 and 747 -FS9-, and I just have words of admiration towards Bryan's work. All these planes had pretty good flight models, as real as it gets within the limitations of FS9. Now, I am digging into the A320 forums, and I found quite a number of complaints and some workarounds to avoid, for instance, excessive VS, like -citing-:"Climb out manually after take-off at about 15 degrees nose up. Keep an eye on the pitch as it will increase as your IAS increases. At thrust reduction altitude, bring your nose down to about 10-12 degrees nose up. Do not pull your thrust levers back to CLB just yet. If your IAS goes above S-speed, select flaps 0. At about 3000ft AGL, pull the throttle back to CLB. Then pull the altitude selector and check that you see THR CLB on the FMA. Then turn on the AP. This works around some bugs in the current SP"So, my question is how fs2crew performs in this aircraft, when, apparently, it is still a bit buggy?BestMiguel

Miguel,FS2Crew doesn't affect the FDE at all. The information you've posted pretty much lines up with my experience flying the Wilco Airbus, with and without FS2Crew active. The difference is that the workload is less when FS2Crew is active, because the "copilot" does what he's supposed to do.

Hi Kurt,Thanks for your reply. Just to clarify: I know FS2crew does not affect the FDE. My concern was because fs2crew actions/events during the flight are triggered by pressing assigned buttons at a certain time, as you all know. So what if at that specific time, let say, fs2crew expects you to engage AP, you cannot, because you are in the middle of this 'workaround' to make the plane more flyable, i.e. to keep VS within 'normal' values.I hope you understand now a bit better my post.I am waiting for feedback to buy both the airplane and obviously fs2crew!!!BestMiguel

Hi Miguel,FS2Crew A320 is quite different from the previous versions.It's much more "modular" than the others and I've worked hard to make it "harder to break", so to speak. That's not easy to do, but I think I pulled it off with this one.The FDE is not an issue for FS2Crew.Hope that helps.Bryan

Miguel,Ah! I misunderstood your original post.In this version of FS2Crew, you don't command the PNF to switch on the autopilot, as activating the AP is the job of the PF. What that means is that the technique you cited in your original post is very doable while using FS2Crew. It is definitely worth the money, so go for it!
