Fsx Install Troubles - Error At The End Of Disc 2! Plz Help

Recommended Posts

I have a serious problem with installing FSX on my PC. After waiting aprox 40 minutes in the end the installation says "Publishing Product Information" in a dialog and after awhile it deletes all what was installed - and then says an error occured. And my original DVD's doesnt have any scratches on the back at all.I googled this but none of the solutions worked. Here are the things i tried:1. Updated my firmware on my DVD-drive2. Made 2 iso's and used daemon tools and installed from there3. Installed MSXML 4.0and generally i tried to install msfsx 5 times with no succes. So i'm pretty stucked here...it's the second time i try to install it but i guess the 2 activations-possibilities are locked to the activation key and not the DVD right?Ok, if you know how to solve this issue help would be very appreciated.

Shut off any antivirus and anti-spyware programs prior to trying the install. Uninstall them temporarily if need be.If running Vista and are installing to the default Program Files location, I'd suggest disabling User Account Control, too.

I had this problem too on one of my reinstalls-but my disks did have a few scratches. I just kept trying and trying and eventually it worked out. Probably took me 8 times of almost getting there and then having to go right back to the beginning.

i looked again, ok maybe a tiny one but compared to other discs it shoudnt be a problem.now i also tried to uninstall awg free virus prog and turn off my windows firewall - 6th attempt - and still not working ... :(Anyone who know what the final process of the install actually does? does it check for a copy protection or?
