HelloI am going to be installing FSX, I allready have fs2004.specs at present are:Gigabyte EP45-DS4E8500 over clocked to 4GHz, FSB 420Corsair 1066 2.1v 8500 running at 1008samsung 750GB HDDXFX 260GTXXP HOMEI have a 200GB spare Partition if required.1. Do I load it in the normal C drive with FS20042. Do I load it on the seperate partition3. Do I install vista 32/64-bit on the seperate partition and then install FSX on that.4. Or do I save up money and buy a Q9550 instead of vista and install it on the same c drive and run it on XP HOME.Or any other better option.thankskrishan

My own personal experience is that seperate partitions can actually slow down a sim since that partition may be on an inner track where access is markedly slower.I have separate 500 GB HDD for all FSX material but no parititions.I have abandoned partitions and am using Ultimate Defrag since you can select which folder/apps/games to put where: so FSX goes on my outer track where performance is best and data etc goes to the inner tracks.

Same hereI run both FS9 and X on the same partition, actually the same as my OS too. I also use Ultimate Defrag and heartily recommend it:http://www.disktrix.com/UDIntroduction.htmMy FSX is set to default path and so is FS9, under Program Files/Microsoft Games/Flight sim 9 and x etc
