Is This Pc Sufficient For Fsx?

I have the opportunity to get at a very good price a desktop with the following spec's :Intel Core 2 Quad Q8200 (4 x 2.33 GHz)4096 MB DDR2-667 Nvidia Geforce 9600 GT, 512 MB GDDR3-SDRAM1x WD10EACS-00D6B0; 931,0 GB Windows Vista Home Premium, 32 bitAs I am no specialist, I ask here if it will be sufficient to run FSX with acceptable performance?Thanks in advance.Guy

With little modding of FSX, ie payware add-ons, sure.Otherwise that gonna depend.I run FSX with many scenery mods, the PMDG MD-11, ASX, Radar Contact 4, My tRaffic 5.2 at 80%...on my system on the tarmac I avergae ~15 FPS...not too great really, and very difficult to land by hand with that too...have to dial things down alot to land 'er by hand.With no mods at all, stripped, I will get ~50-60 FPS.So it depends.My handbuilt system specs...Intel Dual Core 6850ASUS P5Q MOBO o/c to 3.64 GB 800mhz RAM1x XFX 9800 GTX+Vista Ultimate 64 bit.Rather irritating really that my FPS are so low on a good system like mine...sometimes I think of regressing to FS9 but I have too much money tied up in FSX now.

I'd say no, but that all depends on what sort of flying you like to do and most importantly - whereIf you don't mind rural areas with medium sliders it should be ok.If you like the big iron and large metropolitan areas than you'll have to essentially turn most sliders down and it will look bad - might as well use FS9However, if you are able to overclock it with a decent heatsink you could do well.

The system will do fine with medium settings. If you want to run high settings you will need a bit faster video card (8800 GT/9800 GT or faster), and quite a bit faster processor. Unfortunately, you just can't buy out-of-the-box performance for high settings in FSX yet. You absolutely must overclock your processor to achieve this, and we're not talking mild overclocking here. I run an E8400 (dual-core 3GHz 6M L2) @ 4GHz with a 50% FSB overclock and it still hitches from time to time @ high settings in dense urban areas as things load in (usually during view change/panning), and that's even without add-ons.
