December 28, 200817 yr I posted this on the bleed air thread awhile back. Just curious if the 747 or MD11 for FSX are modeled to simulate ice on flight surfaces or engines when flying in such conditions if anti ice systems are not turned on.John
December 28, 200817 yr I've been wondering about the same. The MD-11 will complain if anti-ice is on when not necessary, but the same alert is not displayed in icing conditions, so some level of icing simulation is implemented.Tom Tom Risager NGX tutorial: http://library.avsim.net/sendfile.php?Location=AVSIM&Proto=ftp&DLID=162360 SIDs & STARs Worked Examples: LOWI-UUDD, KSEA-KLAX, EKCH-ENGM, YSCB-YPAD

(in clouds, precipitation in the area etc)I've seen the warning message "ICE DETECTED" (or similar) once - and that was in rain and a TAT of -3C. I've also seen the message "NO ICE DETECTED" a few times after switching AI on.Alex Alex' Projects: Little Navmap
