January 3, 200917 yr I've been out of touch for some time so I'm sorry if this is an old topic. I'm running FSX on a Vista machine. I'm looking for a quick (hotkey popup enabled) addon that will give me quick airport information such as ILS Frequencies, maybe a moving map too. The map in FSX is a pain and stops the sim. Thanks
January 3, 200917 yr I use JABNAVIg its in french they reckon we can translate ourselves since most stuff in in english) anyway it shows general airport info, also shows your pos in ref to you, so as you approach an airport it slowly expands, and runway headings and ils freq show up. You can also add maps to it but havnt figured that part out as i dont use them.
January 3, 200917 yr I think you can use the default GPS to get airport information. I know you can in a real life Garmin 430. I'm pretty sure I've done it in FSX. It won't be a one button thing, you'll have to dig a little bit in the GPS to find it, but I think it's there. You could also pick up a real life sectional or approach plates. The AOPA has a bunch of stuff that might help you out.
January 4, 200917 yr The GPS comes equipped with a great wealth of information on navaids and airports in FSX, that's a good answer!I usually just look at the map before I fly and write down everything I think I will need on a piece of paper.Still, there are a number of programs freeware and payware that could help. Flight Sim Commander (payware) comes to mind, maybe FSPilot (mostly freeware), among others.Flight Sim Commander (a review of an older version by the legendary David Wilson-Okimura)http://www.avsim.com/pages/0606/FSC/FSC.htmFSPilothttp://www.avsim.com/pages/1106/FSPilot/FSPilot.htmJeff ShylukAssistant managing EditorSenior Staff ReviewerAVSIM
