January 8, 200917 yr Side views are "VC" renderings. The only 2D displays are the 2D panel and windows you can open for various things like overhead, forward console, etc. Is this a problem for you? Dan Downs KCRP

January 8, 200917 yr The best reason is because the designers have gotten better and have better tools to work with. The 737NG is practically obsolete compared to 747 and the MD11 is beyond that in capabilities. So, there are sideviews when you have the 2D panel, but they give a sense of depth.
